Animals and Us Fun Day 20th August

July 31, 2016

Generation 2050 will be hosting a free 'Animals & Us' event suited to children between 4-10 on the 20th August 2016 at the Great Western Park Community Centre.

The day will be centred around learning about animals and the environment through art based activities. All of the craft activities will be free to try.

Fairy Garden - We will have a fairy garden where kids can enter the enchanted forest and place a wish for the planet on one of our wishing trees. They can also pose for photos against a fairy photobackdrop

Animal Art Attack - This is an interactive art exhibit that will allow children to express how they feel about different things such as plastic pollution and deforestation through paint, stencils and stickers.

Pet Detectives - Every child can play our pet detective game which involves finding out information about different pets and what makes them happy.

Animal Craft Corner - In the craft corner we will be making food for birds this winter, preparing seed balls to help the bees, painting patch work fabric for rescue dog beds and making cat toys. This will allow the children to feel like they can make a positive difference and have fun at the same time.

There will also be face painting, animal cakes, walking animal balloons and a few stalls selling children's books and cosmetics as well as Carmel's Ice Creams which are totally eco friendly and frozen by a bicycle powered generator!
