Leveraging the Power of Storytelling to make the world a better place

October 19, 2017

I set up Generation 2050 because I believe that stories are a very useful vehicle to drive change by inspiring children to make the world a better place. I've recently spent some time looking at the growing body of research on the value of reading stories.

It turns out that reading fiction is great for increasing social and emotional skills such as empathy and it is much better at educating and inspiring positive behaviours than non fiction, possibly because it allows the reader to connect with the plight of the disadvantaged from a first person perspective.

If you would like to read more about the findings from my research you can read more in my article in the Huffington Post here
